Volunteer Opportunities at the Children's Discovery Museum (CDM)
If you would like to make a difference in a child's life or in your community, you do not need to offer extensive amounts of time. Whether you participate weekly or yearly, your time and effort will improve the quality of life for a child and your community.
Volunteering links people - - it plays an essential role in connecting people to one another, building healthier, stronger families and communities. Volunteering is giving of yourself and time, but there is also the opportunity to receive. Volunteering contributes to a sense of personal gratification and a feeling that you can make a difference - - and you can!

Remember that volunteering is a win-win opportunity for all that are involved- - it is beneficial to each of us as individuals, children, families, and businesses. General Admissions and Gift Shop Operator/Clerical Assistant
The Museum has a need for volunteers who will greet and admit school groups as well as walk-in visitors to the museum. In addition, persons in this volunteer position assist Museum staff with mass mailings and database entries.
Volunteer Educator
Leads lessons and activities for groups of school children and/or leads families in arts and crafts projects (Family Programs).
Volunteer Program Assistant
Assists CDM Educators in presenting School Programs, Preschool Programs and/or FamilyPrograms.
Volunteer Exhibit Facilitator
Assists visitors in using Museum Exhibits. Introduces the exhibits to families and provides positive feedback.
